Hey There!

I am an Indonesian living in Singapore. Back in Indonesia, I was one of those lucky daughters who has a mother who cooked delicious food for us every day! Her food always gets praise from everyone every time my mother serves food to guests during some events. Occasionally, when I was free, I would sit in the kitchen and watch or help my mother cook. Sometimes, my mother would ask me to become her sous chef by cutting some vegetables, washing them, or many other things. At that time, I didn’t realize how valuable that experience was, since that made me comfortable and handy in the kitchen.

Now, in Singapore, I don’t have access to my mother’s food anymore :(. So I did what I should: call my mother and ask for the recipe! Luckily, I still have a good memory of her food on my tongue, plus the copy of her notes really helped me to recreate some of her food! That makes me closer to home and also to her ❤️!

Some note, though: I was vegan during the pandemic, but unfortunately, I am not able to keep being vegan 100%. I learned to forgive myself for this and try to do the best I can. Through this blog, I will try to create as many vegan recipes as possible so I can still help the community. I hope I have the strength to be back to being fully vegan again! I admire everyone who is able to do this sustainably.
